The Welsh Academy Parent-Student Handbook is our first method of providing you with the
information you need to better understand the guidelines, rights, and responsibilities we all accept to
allow learning and teaching to happen and help create a healthy school environment.

Transportation
The Welsh Academy is committed to accessibility for qualified students. Families who need assistance with transportation of their son to and from school every day should contact Executive Administrative Assistant Mrs. Maggie Peña.
School Uniform
- A Welsh Academy polo shirt, long or short-sleeves (provided)
- Black, navy, or khaki pants or shorts
- All white or all black tennis shoes/sneakers. Dress school shoes are to be brown or black.
- A leather belt (black, navy, or brown; not studded)
- A Welsh Academy sweatshirt (if desired; provided)
- A Welsh Academy Cardigan for Mass and special occasions (provided)
Big Brothers
Saint Ignatius students serve as "big brothers" to Welsh Academy students. These high school students provide mentorship and support to our boys. This program helps students connect with other members of the community.
Student Support
As Student Life Counselor, Mr. Dierre Cody, works with students on social-emotional learning (SEL) to help them develop their social skills. He provides one-on-one counseling and small group counseling as well. Mr. Cody stays in close contact with parents to keep them updated on their son's behavioral health. He always has this goal in mind: To help the students discover how their thoughts and feelings impact their behavior and relationships at home, school and in the community.
